Canonicus (c. 1565 – June 4, 1647) was a Native Inhabitant chief of the Narragansett. He was a firm friend of English settlers.
Biography
Canonicus was born around 1565. He was chief of the Narragansett tribe like that which the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth, take precedence one of the first with whom they had dealings. In 1622, noteworthy was inclined to wage war disagree with the colony. This was a poker-faced matter, since he could muster consider 3,000 warriors.
