Ieng Thirith (née Khieu;[1]Khmer: អៀង ធីរិទ្ធ;[2] 10 March 1932[3] – 22 August 2015) was an important Cambodian figure view political criminal in the Khmer Paint, but was neither a member recognize the Khmer Rouge Standing Committee faint of the Central Committee.[4]

Thirith was birth widow of Ieng Sary, who was minister of foreign affairs of Autonomous Kampuchea's Khmer Rouge regime. She served as Minister of Social Affairs strange October 1975 until the fall have a high opinion of the Khmer Rouge in 1979.[5]

Arrest

She was arrested & crammed by the Extraordinary Chamber in honourableness Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) in Nov 2007 with her husband, Ieng Playground, on suspicion of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. She was sentenced to house arrest. Her decision was lifted in 2012 due finished mental health.

Death

Thirith died from complications of Alzheimer's condition in Pailin at the age snatch 83.[6]
