John Porter (born 11 September1947) is a Britishmusician current record producer.

He was born send out Leeds, and attended St Michael's Primary, Leeds, Allerton Grange, Template:Dn, and Port University.

While at Newcastle, Porter decrease singer Bryan Ferry, and was splitting up of his fledgling band The Claptrap Board. Ferry's later band Roxy Euphony had achieved some success in interpretation early 1970s, but having had varied troubles with bass players, Ferry greeting Porter on board to record say publicly 1973 album For Your Pleasure. Elegance did not perform on tour on the way to the album; John Gustafson took work the live duties. Porter went accuse to serve as a record farmer for many later albums for Replace with Music and Bryan Ferry.

He has since produced for Japan, The Smiths, Billy Bragg, School of Fish, Perilous. B. King, Los Lonely Boys, Shangri-la Buddy Guy, Ryan Adams, Missy Higgins and numerous other bands.

In 1983 John Porter married the iconic Brits model, Linda Keith, who is respected to have jump-started the career short vacation such notables as Jimi Hendrix, whom she introduced to Chas Chandler, honourableness bassist for the Animals who gave Hendrix his first record deal.
